The Rudolph Family Commits to the Beta Phi:
Doorway of Opportunity Campaign Brothers Reflect on Their Inspirations for Giving Back
Giving back to Delta Tau Delta makes a great deal of sense for brothers Bill ’82, Fritz ’84, and John ’90 Rudolph. These brothers not only share strong family ties, but also share the Beta Phi brotherhood along with Bill’s sons, Ben ’12 and Tommy ’17. Even Bill’s wife, Laura, called Delta Tau Delta home for two summers when Beta Phi rented out rooms to girls.
While the Rudolph family takes pride in the Delt brotherhood they enjoy with one another, they continue to cherish the bonds formed with the Beta Phis they shared their fraternal journey with. “We have met a lot of special people along the way and now share the lifelong connection of brotherhood,” Bill explains. “I still see this connection among my sons and their brothers. They demonstrate what’s at the core of friendship and brotherhood—being there to support each other.”
The Rudolph family has fond memories of working together as a brotherhood during Greek Week, helping brothers with their studies, taking spring break trips, and hosting a party in Toledo each summer. “We had a great group of men in the house when I was in college,” Fritz shares. “I remember all of the fun I had with Beta Phis and still appreciate the true growing experience that my membership brought about.” Bill and Fritz were both fortunate to grow as men and leaders during their time at Delta Tau Delta, which has inspired their choice to invest in the future of Beta Phi.
“We benefited from the leadership of the men that preceded us. You can never pay it back, you can only pay it forward. I hope that my contribution allows Beta Phi to continue providing opportunities for members to grow as community leaders. I want to see the learning experiences and bonds of brotherhood continued and enhanced,” Bill shares. The Rudolph family looks forward to the Shelter expansion and the opportunities it will bring to an even wider range of men at The Ohio State University. “I’m eager to see how our contributions will help the future of the chapter. We have a great location on campus and a larger house will make Beta Phi even more successful!” Fritz explains.
The growth and leadership experiences acquired from Delta Tau Delta have contributed wonderfully to Bill’s and Fritz’s careers, as they proudly lead Rudolph/Libbe Inc., a national construction contractor headquartered in Toledo, Ohio. Bill serves as the company’s chairman and Fritz as the company’s general superintendent.
Bill and his wife, Laura, have six children:
